Response to a compliment

This morning I was telling the kids how impressed I was with the way they got ready so nicely. Miri said "okay we will try to keep it up until we get married". Gotta love her!

Mr independent

Our washing machine was operating at full capacity after the nine days and our activity for the day was...you guessed it changing the load! Menachem watched a couple of times as this was done. I walked out of the room for a minute. When I came back menachem was wearing only his T-shirt and socks. I asked where his pant were "I put my pants in there" he pointed at the washing machine. I opened the lid and there they were a soggy pair of jeans floating in the sudsy water.

Smile

If ever you were to be some place dark, in need of a bright thing in the room all you need is Menachem and his BRIGHT smile. He is like a light bulb he lights up the room with his winning smile b"h.

I sure do.

This morning I asked menachem, "do you have a dirty diaper?"
He responds by pulling me to the drawer of clean diapers and said "this way, mommy".
Ha! And I keep saying he barely talks!

Summer kick off

Menachem and Motty both got the same sneakers. Menachem got his first, Motty's came a couple of days later. When Motty's finally arrived he was trying them on and prancing around showing them off to the whole family. Menachem came running to me very upset pointing at Motty's new sneakers and shouting something about Motty. It took me a minute to realize he wasn't happy because he thought Motty was wearing his shoes. Thanks to Miri for rescuing the situation by bringing Menachem HIS shoes. He was holding onto them for dear life until Motty was done trying his shoes on.

FIVE? Already!!

It is amazing how time seems to race, we can hardly believe it is five whole years B"H since our darling daughter Miri has begun to light up our world with her delightful smile, shining middos tovos, and her pleasant demeanor. We have been truly blessed to have such a wonderful daughter. It feels like she was just born yesterday.

Miri enjoyed her status as princess for the week from Sunday through Thursday (her actual birthday) On Sunday she chose a birthday trip (the ice cream store). Luckily for her it was also midwinter vacation so our week got to be extra special with our trip to plaster play, and going out for a muffin and hot chocolate, yum! On Thursday was her birthday party at school and it was fantastic! Happy birthday Miri!!

I want it

Menachem is simply smart about getting the things he wants. Our grocery order arrived and guess who is anxious and eager to pitch in...
The four boxes were stacked against the wall. I put away the frozen things and was efficiently moving onto the next box, when I noticed Menachem eating something. I checked to see what he found and was surprised to see grapes in his mouth. I was sure those were still in a box, how on earth does he have them? I continued putting away the things, but kept an eye on him trying to get to the bottom of this. I then saw him standing and busy with the side of the boxes, he was sticking his little hand into the side where there is a hole to carry the box and he was helping himself to as many grapes he could possibly stuff into his tiny mouth at once!

Were Back

Hey everybody. We seem to have been on vacation here, but no we were not enjoying the warm sun in Bermuda or even the sunshine state. We were way to busy getting snowed in! This has been one harsh winter!!
We had many fun snow days. Many. But not too many. It is always such fun to have everything grind to a halt and there is nothing to do but play (and clean up the ever growing mess) and play, be it out in the snow or inside playing pretend, doing arts n' crafts or baking chocolate chip cookies. Yum!

Our street had lots of high snow to play in. The unplowed street was a new safe fun place to play. The kids could not get enough of running into the street or even crossing/climbing across the street.
Keep warm, stay dry. Gotta run our hot cocoa is ready.
