New shoes

This week Chaim had off for a couple of days and he got to have the honor of putting Motty onto the bus for the very first time. Then Motty had this huge treat of going to the pick up room which thrills him to the core for some reason. Motty came home with a Nachas note this week from school, he got a bag of chips from his uncle. then his cousin came to give him the identical snack, so his Morah said one is enough. Motty was not gonna let a good piece of junk just pass him by so quickly so he said i will give one to my sister Miri. "wow! such good middos!" guess what Morah he had every intention of having two you were so fooled but in the end he did share after much cajoling on my part he did have two even though he insisted that "they gave it to me for me!" We have a new music artist in our house: Miri! She is in love with the song "Mizmor shir" and sings along to herself playing her imaginary keyboard on the edge of practically any surface be it a table, chair or toy box. She is so funny when it comes to singing she will wake up and join no matter how tired she was a minute ago. Yesterday we went to get Miri new shoes. She was so thrilled to see her old shoes on display "looook! aaah see it! Murry's shoes!" she was so excited she couldn't get over it! when the guy brought out a couple of boxes of shoes for her to try she sat down on the floor immediately and eagerly pulled her old shoes right off to start trying the new ones (since in the two minutes he was gone she put 'em back on already!) this was her day it's her FAVORITE place to go. Some children like toy stores but not Miri, she loves shoe stores!

Motty's new bed

Guess who finally got a bed this week MOTTY!!!! and boy is he proud. Motty is so excited with it he couldn't stop telling everyone he saw about it. We told him not to come out without permission and shockingly he listens to that rule. He even asked if he could use the bathroom. Chaim told him "if I have a bad dream can I come to your bed in the middle of the night?" Motty was more than thrilled with the thought. This morning Miri woke up not feeling well and I took her to my bed. Motty woke up and saw her crib empty and asked where is Miri? I told him "she's in my bed". He was so upset "no way now everyone has to come to my bed!!" he thinks he is the new parent, now that he has a bed of his own his status has been elevated!

Chanuka

Chanuka is really fun this year. It's a beautiful Yom Tov. We always look forward to spending so much family time with everyone. The first night of Chanuka we started off with lighting the menorah and the kids singing & dancing with totty in front of the lecht. We then discussed the ness of the oil with them. After the half hour we got to have our first Chanuka treat...latkes. Our cute son that is the world's largest potato kugel fan ever DOESN'T LIKE IT! He said there is too much brown! I guess the middle is his favorite part. lol. We had the the first family Chanuka party at Bobby W.'s house on Wednesday night. It was a great party. Motty loved the "chocolate bagels" he wants more of them please. Everyone had a fantastic time. We thought is was so nice there that we even went back there for shabbbos... On Motzei Shabbos we hosted the Steinberg family party. We had a fun time. Motty was living it up with Motty and Shloimy K. Then on Sunday afternoon was the kids bash at our place. If you want to see a cute party come check us out! It's a kids party planned by everyones favorite Bobby W. There was pizza, fries and nosh up to our ears! then we played a game and made a crafts project. Then came the fun part making cookies. we shaped them in all sorts of fun shapes then decorated them with colored sugar, sprinkles. and a variety of sugar shapes... some toppings got a small cookie under it! It is really a cute party geared to the kids only and a huge two hours of nachas for the proud grandparents of such cute kids.

This will hopefully be the start of thicker hair.

finale of the wedding season

Motty and Miri would like to shout to the their most favorite Totty in the world "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!" We had a small party this Shabbos he was so surprised to find some of his sisters in our dinig room when I woke him up from his nap on shabbos afternoon. It's two weeks since Rivki and Sruly got married and we never posted about it!! It was the most gorgeous wedding!!! Everyone looked beautifull, especially the kallah's cutest nephew & niece!! We danced all night long and had so much fun even though we had a dumb babysitter so I missed so much of it bec I was checking on her and she insisted on watching miri upstairs and not letting her be part of the wedding too much...lol. We had a really nic week with our out of town relatives this time Motty was in school so we got to spend more time with them. We can't believe that Rivki & Sruly are already married for two weeks even if you ask them it feels like forever! Miri was the official socks and shoes taker offer at the Auf ruf she was running arund barefoot every couple of minutes if I wasn't looking in her direction she slipped them off yet again!!! We made sure to get her marry jane with a buckle for the wedding and shabbos sheva brachos...it's not worth the fight! I asked Motty on Wednesday of parshas chaya sara if his morah told them about the parsha yet and he was telling me the story of Sara so I asked which Parsha is it and I promted him "parshas chaya s...." he finished by saying "chaim schimdt!" that is a boy in his class. these kids can be pretty funny sometimes!

Laughing matters

This boy has got to be the funniest of them all! Motty came home today and started to lift one leg while holding onto the back of a chair. He was doing some sort of jig but his foot was definitely planted firmly to the ground. he tells me "look how I am hocking." No idea what this meant I said show me again please...no change so baffled I asked who taught you how to do this? His morah said that is what we call it when we jump on one foot.
Then he wanted a slice of an apple. I cut a piece and peeled it, that was the crime he only likes it; "with the paper! Only needs to have it when you cut off the paper!!!"
The last laugh for the day came at bedtime. I made Asparagus soup for supper. he had a little bit. He pipes up "you gave me soup and I ate only a little, not the whole thing because there were pickles inside it, right mommy."

only 4 days left

Wedding blues are upon us again gotta finish everything before shabbos...and now we are the kallah's family so there is much more to do like; get their new place ready for them, grocery orders... so we are pretty busy and totally excited! We will be moving into the hub of activity for shabbos (the Wallk home). this way we don't have not such of a big deal about getting to the Auf ruf, and shabbos kallah is not an issue this way. My kids are so excited and looking forward. Miri is again as proud as a princess can be in her gown! Motty is picking up so much yiddish now in school it's so cute to hear himn talk to himself and cout in yiddish. He is also very into the colors of everything lately. he is also very excited that he is finally getting a bed soon! Miri's favorite line of the week is "look a me!" and she is this doting mommy to her dollies it's quite funny. I was doing stuff on the computer before and she comes running with a snood she pulled out of my drawer and says "here mommy. here's snooze" you have to just laugh at this cuttie.

Shabbos without Abba

Chaim Shmuel was off to Monsey this Shabbos for a friends Auf Ruf & a kiddush. The rest of us stayed put in BP and went to the Wallks for shabbos. Motty was sad all Thursday and Friday that he was left out of the plans. When CS went to tell him good night Motty got up and hugged him then with his voiced cracked and he had these big crocodile tears and said "I wanna go with you to Monseeeeey" In the middle of the night he woke up and told me "I am going to Monsey with Abba" he was totally convinced. When it was time for us to go to my parents he said no I am waiting for Totty to take us in the car... then Zeidy showed up and all was forgotten. He told Zeidy Wallk "for this Shabbos you are gonna be my totty, right"
Miri was so proud of her new robe all shabbos she was prancing around in it all day in the cutest mood. She was thrilled to play and show off a bit for everyone. she knows ho0w to play her cards right when to insert the all emotional "pleese!" and all. she got herself loads of nosh that way. which other 19 month old wakes up and says "I want nosh" and that is their breakfast? "all right if you eat a yogurt.." that's what bobbys house is all about I guess. She is a really into the "jumpee!" club. Miri does it all the time and waits for a round of applause. she is thrilled that she can (almost) do it.

so confused!!!

We forgot to tell you all this hilarious story. Nonny and Poppa Herby Kauvar hosted the Wallk family for breakfast at the avenue plaza hotel during their stay there for Leiby's and Chayala's wedding. My great aunt Gayle and uncle Gibby had left. They were the only remaining out of town guests. Uncle Gibby is about the same age, height and stature as Herby is. At the breakfast Motty looked up at me all confused and asked "mommy where is the other Herby?"

Succos is in the air!

Hey we are back after a long break...not even sure why, maybe just too busy to go on-line. We are having a beautiful Succos this year. We got to spend time with both the Steinberg's and the Wallk's and even with the junior Wallk's, which was so nice. Motty went to see Zeidy Wallk's new indoor succah. He said he thought that the old succah was so good last year outside. Suri told him "this one is also good", so he said "yeah it's also good but outisde is very good."
Motty and Miri both loved the fun of running in and out without someone breathing down their backs half as much.
Miri is talking so much it's real cute the things she says... Miri and her uncle Mordche get along so well together, you have to see how she runs right to him first, he is so thrilled!
If ever she gets a boo boo and is crying (about 10 times a day) when asked where is the boo boo? She will always show you her left index finger and thumb! She can also win the miss independence award. She has her own agenda and won't tolerate being guided or told what to do. if she wants to walk or run it is at her digression in which direction that should be even in a busy place like liberty Island where we went today. She ran up the hill and stood hands on her hips to supervise her bigger cousins roll down the hill. she loved the seagulls and was ready to follow them everywhere the only issue is that they can fly even over water...
Motty had a fantastic time too. We went on a boat ride to and from the Island, and he loves boats. There were loads of sail boats out on the water and they were such a thrill for him as well. His totty told him look there is a big ship and Motty looked up at him knowingly and said "uh uh it's an ocean liner!" thanks to Bobby he knew what it was called already and was so proud of the info.
Have a gut moed everyone!

First day of school

Yesterday was Mottys very first day at "my sheeva yagdil tolah"! He woke up with such excitement it was so cute. funny that this little stinker is having a first day of school already. He was babbling about the bus he will go on and mentally choosing which cousin should be sharing his seat for the ride to yeshiva. He came home happy and soooo tired that he conked out for a little bit. Oh and he has a friend "Sleaze Gopleib" I checked the class list and it is Tzvi Gottleib it's amazing how easily you can screw a name up! Yesterday he came home saying he wants snack...no problem but after lunch I told him anyway your morah gave you snack not so long ago (so couldn't be that hungry) uh uh morah only gave wafers. I guess snack has to come in a small bag! This morning Motty was a little disappointed he wanted to take stuff in his backpack... but he only needs a penny (which he refuses to give in school-only give tzedakkah in our pushka!) which isn't that big. he is used to taking swimming things and a snack and drink from the summer.

I hear wedding bells...

Mazel Tov to the newest couple in the Wallk family, our favorite baby brother Leiby and our cousin turned Sister-in-law/aunt Chaya'la Steinberg. It was a gorgeous wedding!!! We had a fantastic time dancing the night away. Miri was really proud of herself in her beautiful gown. She kept running and throwing herself into her cousin's lap and giggling as she plopped onto the floor in a big white fluff. Our princess had her hair done in an updo that lasted aprox a half an hour before the crown was hurled onto the floor and her hair was just a mess of hairspray. Motty was the hansome gentlemen of the evening. He was so happy to prance around in his "shuit" even if it wasn't a suit he sure liked the word. We told him a couple of days before the weeding that we are having special guests coming Nonny, Grandma... and he said "uh uh I saw Grandma at Mrs. Cohen's house" well now he says "it wasn't the same one, it was our grandma!" so we are making progress. I told Motty before Shabbos that tomorrow Miri is staying at the Shain's while we go to Sheva Brachos. He was so proud he kept reminding Miri all day that she can't come but he can, it's a good thing she didn't get it 'cuz he was really trying to rub it in.
tonight Bobby and Zeidy Wallk are making the last Sheva brachos and we are all going so I better move it if we will all be ready to leave on time.

Family day

All right this is it our official family time. Chaim S. was fantastic, he took of the day for; you guessed it my birthday. Talk about nice. It was good family fun. We had a great time at the safari at six flags.
Motty was enchanted with all the animals he was particularly thrilled with the giraffe, which he thought ate a school bus mind you (it was licking the wet roof though) He also thought the Zebras were kinda cool. Miri love the "amals" or animals and was so happy to be riding up front on her Mom's lap for most of the ride.
Motty kept eyeing that humongous roller coaster and telling us he would like to ride it. Any chaperone's available? it is a steep climb up and has got a real sharp descent. We then spent some time in the area enjoying the relaxation of a day off out of the blue! family time is definitely the best, with the company I've got that is!!!

The end of the season ):

Hi we are back. Sorry we have been away for so long. For starters a very happy birthday to our favorite Zeidy Steinberg! Motty is so happy to know that you are both on the same page, any birthday must be just like his, now his zeidy is officially three years old.
We were zocheh to a visit from our very special uncle Leiby this Friday. He came to see his (naturally) most adorable nephew and neice, he even brought them these real cute hat cookies that Chaya'la made for "shabbos kapalitch" only one week left for the big day-hurray!!!
Motty has finished playgroup for the season this past Friday. yikes that means he is gonna be a "big" boy and go to school like any other pre schooler! My baby is growing up so fast! boy I am looking forward to having him home just like most of last year for the next two weeks (I'm not sure though if I will still be in this state of mind by then, I was warned!)
Miri is the cutest communicator you have seen, ever. She knows when she wants to go she has to tell her mommy to put on her bye-bye (sheitel) Her favorite thing is shoes she has a thing for them. she loves her "sippas" slippers, and "sandos" sandals. We went to a place she liked better than the playground, the shoe store of course! she was running up and down the aisles pulling shoe after shoe off the racks and "trying them on" it was a real comedy scene. She is learning at a young age that shoes are a fun accessory to like, no girl can have too many they say.

Motty's Upsherin!!!!!!

Motty is finally Three!! He is one adorable upsherin yingele, and a proud one I should add. He was excellent by the cutting ceremony and a pretty good sport the rest of the day even if he wasn't feeling so great (he has strep throat ...again) Thanks to everyones help and Bobby and zeidy's house the party was beautiful and there was room for everyone... In Cheder Motty was so cute even if he was a little distracted by the other children (who were eagerly awaiting their peckelach.) He looks so diffrent it's so funny to see him and you are sure it's another kid but he still sounds the same and the sparkle in his eyes is ever brighter. Today was his birthday party at playgroup. It's a real cute party we had cupcakes and 3 candles which Motty blew out on one try! He couldn't wait to give out the peckelach. His first bath after the haircut needed lots of reasurrance that the payos won't get washed off in the water. and that they will still be there when we come out!

Sunday, July 22, 2007

Boy are we busy 'round here this week...we have so much to do for Motty's Upsherin that we have no time to blog. Today we went to the store with Motty and chose nosh for his pecklach this involved tremendous decision making on his part, oh and blue was the going color. Which bag of snack should go in? "the blue" not the potato chips, but point and name the color and it goes in! Now we need to put 'em together and all these things take time ya know...
He is marching around all day telling evryone I am "free" years old and will soon have payos and a copel... he spent some time singing happy birthday to himself and was very amused that he always knew he was 3 at the end of the song.
Miri is just the cutest little thing! She is so verbal lately you just have to laugh at her way of saying things. "ma maw" or want more is the going phrase when there is food around ( which she always seems to find at any given hour) she loves to talk on the "phone" (note the emphasis) and play with a "lolla" stroller, and you just have to smile when you hear her say "I wa boppy!" (I want a bottle-again the emphasis on part of the sentance) in this dramatic sing song-10 times in a row if it's not gettin' there fast enough. We get a real kick out of her.

GOOD OLD FASHIONED SUMMER FUN!!

We had a great time yesterday. It was hot and sticky, and felt like we would melt in the strong sun but we sure had a fantastic time at the Meadowlands yesterday. The NJ state fair was on and after much (all right tons) of today no maybe next week or tomorrow...talk we actually got there. For the record Motty is a real thrill seeker! The more wild a ride looks the more willing to try it he is, an upside down rollercoaster, a flying windmill you name it he wanted to go. Don't worry he did want to go on some age appropriate rides such as his favorite, the bumping boats and any kind of car or truck ride that is in existence. He was facinated by the motorcycle show and the petting zoo too. Miri was so hot and unfortunatley this wasn't geared for her at all. Poor thing got shlepped around in the heat for every one else to have fun... at the end of the day she was so tanned that she looked like her legs (from her the top of her socks) was duncked into chocolate milk. Yes she did get a treat her Aunt Chanie managed to treat her to her very first lollypop.

PICTURE TIME

Can't believe it only three and a half weeks until we cut Motty's beautiful curls! We went to the "tographer" yesterday with Motty and Miri . They were great. Motty thought that he was sooo funny and kept mimicking the sound of a balloon letting out air but this made his some funny face. Miri had this terrified expression on her face that was pretty comical but eventually even she warmed up. we have to go choose next week so we'll let you know how adorable they came out. We went to fields of friendship (a park on Ave. M) on "one fine spring day" this week, and Motty walked/ran with his friends most of the way there and back! Miri was so not impressed with the playground she could have just as well walked around the backyard for as much as she cared but it was real nice there. Next time we will do a picnic for supper since it worked so well.

Mrs. what????????????

Mordechai rides a very special school bus this summer, the bus driver's name; Mr. Orange thus the name "Mrs. Juice bus" was born, or "Mr. Orange juice" depending on his mood. the funny thing is that Mr. Orange only drove the bus the first couple of days until the AC bus was available from the board of Ed for the summer, but the name stuck.
Motty was looking out the window on evening before bedtime and said look there is "Yo-Man" confused I wondered where did he pick up that slang from, then I looked in the direction he was pointing and saw a little boy there...do you mean Binyomin?? I saw a flicker of recognition in his eyes..."yeah yo-man" he said "I like to sit next to him a Morah Chaya's."
this kid is for the books!
Miri and I are bonding these days we have so much time to play alone, we love it. This week was so hot that I felt bad that her hair was bothering her so I tried to put her hair in a pony tail and it FIT!!! she looks darling!!! She says so many things it's hard to keep up with her growing vocabulary (and pronunciations!) She also knows exactly what she wants and will holler for an hour until I figure out what it is that she is saying. It would be pretty funny if it weren't so frustrating for both of us!
I was brushing Miri's hair the other day and Motty was watching when he commented "soon I am going to have a yarmulka" "really?" I asked "what about Miri will she get one too?"
"no" he replied "she already has a shaitel just like mommy. Only me and totty could have one cuz she is a "grawl."

First day of playgroup!!!!!

The wheels on the bus go round and round... and finally Motty gets to see what the inside of a school bus actually looks like after years all right months of being in love with this odd colored vehicle
This morning I woke him and said "guess where we are going today?" to the"hairport" was his first guess no so to the zoo? no on the school bus to Morah Chaya and he giggled with delight! We got dressed so quickly ate breakfast and waited outside for the bus with great anticipation, this is the highlight don't you get it he could have just gotten on the bus rode around the block once and been happy enough! W
When it finally pulled up he ran and got on with a cheery hello as if this was a daily activity of his. Of course his worried mom already nudged Morah today to see how my sunshine is doing and she said he is a real "chevraman". He came in so happy and looked like he ahad been there all year already B"H and that he is real friendly I guess we knew that already but sounds great to hear again

Getting bigger every day

All right we sure do have the world's BEST helper! Motty is great he can help set and clear a table like a pro, get a new garbage bag and put it in the can ( it takes 10 minutes, but it will be done right) and this week he has truly outdone himself he helped make the potato kugel. You should have seen him smile when we complimented him on it's special great taste because of his efforts. I showed him a red potato asked him to please take them out all of the drawer and put them on the table. a couple of minutes later I came back and saw that he took out all red potatoes and purple onions! He was so confused when I explained the difference. I guess he doesn't see red potatoes that often that he got so confused.

Miri is really becoming independent, it's so cute. She walks down the steps like anyone else would it's fine inside but outside she keeps scraping her legs on the cement when she wears shorts cuz she has short little legs so that she rubs them against the step while going down. she keeps doing it anyhow. Also Miri knows EXACTLY what she wants, and woe is to the one that does not comply with her wishes!! she has the hysterical tantrums lying on the floor kicking and screaming it's so funny.
Today we had our first Bar-B-Que for the season with the Waxler family. Thanks to the guys we had great food! Miri helped herself to loads of french fries straight out of the pan, which soon became her personal plate. Oh and Miri loves bubbles I mean bubble wands she thinks they are great lolly pops. Motty and his cousin Laya'la Waxler had a fantastic time they play so cute together. The two of them were running around the whole time together. A real boy he is, when we came home I felt like I was holding a lot of dirt and a little bit if Motty.
Motty can't wait for morning; it will be his very first time going on a real school bus yippee! The fist day of playgroup at Morah Chaya's for the summer. He is busy packing and unpacking his camp bag all day then switching the snack. I think we are going with pretzels but we still have time to change it again in the morning...LOL

Pizza Time

We were driving to the pizza shop the other day when Chaim S. asked "who wants pizza?" Of course there was a loud chorus of meeeeeeeeeeeeee! So when we left the pizza place as a joke he again asked as they settled into their car seats "who wants pizza?" so Miri, of course not one to turn down a good offer for food said "meeeeeeeee!" Motty shouted on top of that "Haaad!" so now that's the new one when asked if they want pizza "me" & "had" I guess he loved the laughs he got for that one so he will keep it up for a while.

Live Entertainment: the Steinbergs' that's who!

We sure have a great time wherever we are, even at the Dr.'s office. Motty knows just who is his friend there. Well just about every secretary, Dr. and anyone else on the staff, but hands down he likes Dr. B. and Shalva the best, oh and maybe Rochel. He is the first one to walk into the office and get hugs and prizes behind the glass window because he asks so nicely "Shalva please turn on Uncle Moishe." which other child goes to the Dr. and gives him big bear hugs and says Dr. "Bumash" is my friend. It's pretty funny. Then he will settle down quietly and watch an Uncle Moishe video. Woe to the one that tries to interupt him, only he can say something to verify something on the screen like "that's a "whoplane' right? Shaulie and Chanie is gonna take Motty on a 'whoplane' soon right" (...you so better keep your word, he is not one to forget things like that so quickly.)

Then while he is all absorbed in the drama of torah Island Miri is released from her stroller and whoever is not that thrilled with Uncle Moishe (read - adults) is ready for the next form if entertainment. With her limited vocabulary she has got the whole place buzzing about how cute, funny, girly, rambunctious and down right adorable she is, look how much personality she has and she said almost nothing audible. She was proud of her dress, so she was holding it down at the hem, then she wanted to check what was underneath so she picked it up over her head but now her eyes were magically covered so she had to bend over to see her undershirt and tickle her tummy. She then got her shoes off (don't ask how!) and then her socks and looked at her toes and gleefully pointed "babies! babies" I don't know where that came from trust me we don't have such strange nicknames for body parts in our house, but then again maybe this is how they develop. she is just one funny thing let me tell you. Huggable is just the right word to describe her I think.

So much to write, about nothing

We had a great time last week. We went on this huge ship; a missle destroyer to be percise and it was so cool. They had these real high tech guns and mini airplanes on board that contain only a camera so they can take aerial pictures of enemy territories and the like! There were sooooo many sailors dressed in white they looked like they stepped out of a story book or something. Motty was facinated. Miri was annoyed with her lack of freedom. For a long stretch of time I held a squirming baby it was fun! oh yeah!

We had the honor of having very special guests; "Mochti" Goldberger came to play after yeshivah one day, he sure knows how to make Motty have fun and feel real big so I guess he will just have to come again. Then we had Ruchy and Chaya'la Steinberg over, we do so well with lots of girls we just love it! They had a great time playing all day. Mazel Tov to our newest Bar Mitzvah Bochur Sruly Steinberg, about his p'shetel I guess all we can say is hats "on"

The other day Motty saw someones dirty tissue on the sidewalk he bent down to check what it was and looked up at me with these huge serious eyes and said "gross it's disgusting!"
Yay! Miri can finally go DOWN the steps!!!!!! It is such a pleasure not to have her yelling at the top step that she would like to go down, and yes she is practising every chance she gets.

Cheese cake season hurray!!

Hey we missed you guys. We were pretty busy around here, and with Shavuos taking up some of our "computer" time I guess things just got more "farshlepped".

We had a great Yom Tov and the cheese cake was great too! Motty was so excited to discuss what happened to the "Idden" in the Midbar when we got the "Tolah" that it got was boring to tell the story already by the time Shavous rolled around. I'll post pics later of Motty in his darling flower that he made...I came to pick him up at playgroup, his Morah saw us from the porch and told me she'll send him down (yay don't have to go up the three flights!) he came marching down the steps with a beaming face and a flower face hat it was adorable!

Motty is hysterical to have at the table when bentching. He hands out the bentchers and then takes one for himself, sits down and begins the ceremony of the worlds greatest mimick. He mumbles along looking in and all and then for the kicks of it CS would say a couple of words out loud and make a hand motion...Motty does it too but even better that the origional. My parents ate here on shabbos and they could not stop laughing the entire time. They said had you warned us before we would have watched, then bentched.

We have a new favorite word around here...ME! everything Miri wants is asked for in this manner. She will stand next to an item that she wants and holler me! me! me! until it's in reach.
Miri is a real girl she prances around her bobby's house all day with a doll stroller, taking her "baby" for a walk. Her vocabulary is so cute she says so many things, but the catch is you gotta really listen 'cuz it's so obsecured with her baby talk before and after, that you can miss what she did say clearly.
The new joke with her and her Abba gets us all laughing. He asks her all seriously "Miri, would you like to go into the criby?" she looks at him with a mischevous grin and says "NO!" they can go at it several times a day and every time again there are peels of laughter...

We do have some pics to post so please check back later this week. Thanks!

Our special guest!!

We have been real busy this week. Our fantastic grandmother, Nonny was in town! YAY! We had a real nice time and can't wait for her to come back in August. We had the Bris of our newest cousin Dovy Wallk on Friday. Mazel Tov!! Nonny came just in time for Bunim's Upsherin on Sunday, he looks so cute with his haircut...Motty was infatuated with the ceremony as usual, imagining himself in his place! We went into the city on Tuesday and then all had dinner at Bobby Wallk's house and were honored by the presence of Leiby's Kallah Chaya'la. Motty was running to playgroup today looking like the picture of happiness, his hands were clenched in a fist and his elbows pointed while he ran like a pro, his tight bottle curls bouncing along while a smile was pasted on his face. When we got near playgroup he saw the kids playing on the porch and shouted hiiiiiiiii! I'm coming!!!!!!!! I'm so happy to see him so thrilled to go there and know he is happy there all day! Oh and we are so sorry that no one made a fuss about Zeidy Steinberg's new shoes we apologize profusely!!

Getting ready for upsherin

Our little Tzaddik is almost ready for the big day...he keeps practicing by trying on his Abba's yarmulka, Tzitsis and the like. tonight he even said a really nice loud bracha before kissing the tzisis, one minor detail it was a Hamotzei. I told him the correct one and that was all we heard for the next hour, hashems name and all. I hope he will be just as happy to do all the mitzvohs as he is this one! Miri finally got her first pair of shoes!! she was so excited to wear them this morning. It was hysterical to watch her come trotting over with this adorable giggle when I was taking them out of the box this morning and hear her saying shus, shus! When asked where they are she proudly points her shoes up. I can't belive my baby is already becoming a toddler!!!!!!!!!!

Huray! New Shoes!!!!

Hip Hip Hurray! Miri is running around all day in her SHOES! She is so proud of this "first" pair, this morning she saw them and came running, while tripping over her feet with excitment when she saw me open the box and the cute giggles I wish I recorded that went along with her cries of Shus, shus! It was quite funny to watch her. In the shoe store she wasn't afraid until they wanted her to walk by herself in them. I guess it was okay to be fit and try 'em on since these aren't the first things she ever had on her feet, but then again they are her first real shoes.

urray! New Shoes

coffee mustache

This week we went to see our Bobby Wallk. She makes fantastic iced coffee. Even Miri agrees, she saw it coming to the table and there she was running across the now huge kitchen to come and check out what that is in the cup! taking a lick of the foam she smiled and went for more. Miri wasn't getting it in quick enough. She put her whole face into the cup and came up with foam on her nose and a great big smile! She shares though, there was a drop left for me when she was done!

Summer is here

Come on this is it, dare we call it spring yet... We are so living it up soaking in the sunshine playing in the great outdoors once again!!! It has been a wonderful week of bubbles, tricycles, slides, swings and what not. Motty was so excited with the new all time out doors policy that he thinks was implemented for the season, that tonight after his bath he saw a couple of kids that he always plays with going out to play. Not wanting to be left out of the fun he asked if I can please dress him to go out, naturally I responded with a negative it's almost bed time kinda thing... next thing I know he is coming into the dining room with a pair of shabbos pants on backwards and a "cozy" sweater (maybe he was cold today!) that clashed so bad but he started to unlock the door he was goin' out to play! Nothing beats a warm bath to relax in just ask him he'll tell you. On shabbos he was eating his favorite, chicken soup. I was busy feeding Miri hers when I hear a cute voice mumble "oh it's cozy like a bath...mmm" I turned around just in time to see his hand up to his wrist in the warm bowl of soup. Miri is becoming a pro at climbing up the stairs. By now you would think she was born with this skill the way she does it. She sure is revelling in our mornings together on Tuesdays and Thursdays (now that we have cut our nap-yikes less time to get things done but hey!) I get to appreciate her so much more when she is by herself and not bothered. A great description of her would definitely be: a sunny smile,(that just melts your heart) mushy, (cuddling her all time fave.) lovable,(you bet!) fun,(oh yeah) curious,(must check everything out) girly, princess and a touch of mischief (she is fore sure related to her brother!!!) We sure had a nice time at the Bar Mitzvah last night. It was wonderful to meet Shlomie's wife Esty and baby princess (and a real cute one I might add) all the way from Manchester, she is such a sweetheart.

Kids N Action

Hey! we have been having a lovely week with our "beautiful" weather and all. having stayed in all week we were begining to get cabin fever so today we had to get out. Motty and Miri had a fantastic time at Kids 'N' Action they sure lived it up and we don't have to many great photos they were too busy having fun to sit still for one of those! We did get to meet our cousin gitty Goldberger and her classmates there, that was pretty cute.
It was so funny they had Pizza there and we got some for lunch and my friend that met us there couldn't get over how when Miri saw the pizza she said some garbled word for baruch and a loud "Atah" for each bite!
We think Motty would love a doll stroller...I heard no noise from the room where Motty was playing this afternoon, after enjoying the peace and quiet for a minute or two I got worried that something was up so I called his name having no response I went to see where he was and saw the door wide open so I followed him to the only place I could think he went, you guessed it our favorite neighbors the Shain's. he unlocked the door on his own today and went up to the neighbors house to play (they needed friends today "urgently" their aunt is getting married tonight so it was very hectic there)There he was playing with a doll stroller and he refused to come down unless it came with. So we borrowed it for the day. Motty and Miri both were fighting over it all afternoon. Actually she is the girl so I guess she should have a turn.
